Winchester

Winchester Cathedral seen across the green with trees and visitors

Winchester is the perfect place for a group of young students to explore. It is England’s ancient capital, known as the principal city of King Alfred and the Anglo-Saxon and Norman Kings. A must-see attraction at the heart of historic Winchester is the medieval Cathedral, known for its architecture and art. The Great Hall, Winchester College (the oldest running school in England), and the River Itchen that you stroll across via the City Bridge are some of the attractions this great city offers you.

Winchester also has excellent road and rail links to the rest of the country. There are regular, direct train services to London, Portsmouth, Southampton and Oxford. There is also Winchester Science Centre & Planetarium to explore.
